About our Founder
By James Lea
With a Physics degree from the University of Oxford, and a Masters degree in Satellite Communication Engineering from the University of Surrey, I have over 20 years’ experience delivering complex projects and programmes in the nuclear, aerospace, air traffic control, consumer goods, defence and energy sectors, working as a consultant specialising in delivery and data science, including machine learning and AI.
I founded Project Science Ltd to bring expertise in data science and AI/ML-driven project and programme delivery to the market. I love anything data-related, and will work with you to exploit the value and generate the benefits your data deserves.
I apply a skeptical empirical approach to restore and maintain control of projects and programmes. I’m a keen practioner of ultra-low defect approaches that reduce risk and volatility, and improve delivery efficiency.
My work is focused on innovation and better ways to deliver, using lean and Kaizen techniques. I’ve deployed Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) enhancements to complex projects, improving their ability to delivery ‘right first time’.
I firmly believes that in our professional endeavours there is always a better way, and that our job as project leaders is to inspire our teams to continually innovate, lift our team performance and bring that vital sense of flow to our work, through which teams can gain job satisfaction and delight clients and sponsors.
